The Paugan Dames emerged out of the cold at a Christmas market from earlier times in Wakefield, Quebec. Alise Marlane and Chris MacLean, both accomplished songwriters, are joined by old time Appalachian and cajun music enthusiast Tina Therrien. Serving up thoughtful, at times playful interpretations of contemporary Canadiana, old time, and a cappella music, their harmonies could melt a slab of butter. Spicy guitar, delicate mandolin, and solid stand-up bass create a tasteful backdrop for their rich vocal arrangements.
