With members hailing from the far reaches of Ontario, the Sandy Hill Saxes, led by Magnus Charette, are a modular ensemble of classically trained saxophonists based in the Ottawa valley and trained under the pedagogy of Victor Herbiet, one of Canada’s premier saxophonists and composers. This concert will feature a diverse exposition of chamber repertoire from across Latin America. From the exciting Venezuelan dances of Aldemaro Romero, through the innovative work of Piazzolla’s tango, and to the cutting edge of Latin American musical leaders like Paquito D’Rivera, this concert is not be be missed!
