Art, and particularly jazz, is a rich source of inspiration. The program includes original compositions, folk songs and hymn tunes along with works by Miles Davis, Bill Evans, John Zorn and Leonard Bernstein.
 
The collaboration between Peter Woods (sax) and Ali Berkok (piano) is a 
young but deepening one, having seen them play several venues with a mix of standards, originals and freeform improvisation. 
This evening's concert is themed around peace and transformation, two 
concepts seemingly at odds, yet right in the jazz tradition of moving 
forward together through contradiction. In 2024, naming ‘peace’ as a 
concert theme is a bold invitation: how might each of us sustain 
creative improvisation in the face of current events? Art, and 
particularly jazz, is a rich source of inspiration for that profound 
planetary work.
