Field Notes' jazz project "Wonder" is a meditation on presence, place, and the quiet astonishment that moves through everyday life. Musicians gathered voices speaking of eclipses, bird-watching, childbirth, politics, and gardening. In response, they listened and composed in real time, letting melody emerge from memory and intuition. The result is an instrumental album shaped by spoken reflections, echoing with folk and hymn textures, and deeply inspired by Canadian literary voices like Tim Lilburn, Jan Zwicky, and Dennis Lee.
